Jon has been playing piano and singing for over 35 years. Self taught for a majority of that time, he also started taking piano lessons at the tender age of 5, and singing for church and family get togethers at about the same time. Jon attended Northwestern College in Roseville, MN with a major in Music-performance and minor in Radio and TV broadcasting. Jon has been passionate about Journey and their music since he bought his first cassette tape “JOURNEY ESCAPE” and bought every Journey REO and STYX album since then. He also learned his first Journey song “Who’s Crying Now” on the piano in junior high and his classmates were very impressed to say the least. Jon started playing in the band circuit around the Twin Cities in 2000 after being a club/wedding DJ for 15 years. Guess you could say he ‘missed his true calling’ for those 15 years after hearing him play the keyboards live. Jon’s past experience include bands such as Brat Pack Radio, Luna Sea, Jet City, Kick start and now Arch Allies. Jon’s musical influences include Jonathan Cain, Neal Doughty, Dennis De Young, Jim Peterik among others. Jon is also involved with playing keyboards on his church worship team, weddings and other corporate functions and parties. Make sure to catch Jon in action at a future ARCH ALLIES show soon.
