The 2009 Northern Highlands Music Fest is Coming to Lake of the Torches Resort Casino

Lac du Flambeau, Wis. – Headliners Sugar Ray, Smashmouth and the Spin Doctors are among the spectacular lineup set for the second annual Northern Highlands Music Fest to be held this summer in the Lac du Flambeau Amphitheater in Lac du Flambeau, Wis. Purchase your tickets now to see a spectacular day-long extravaganza on Saturday, July 25, 2009.

Other artists that are confirmed for the only rock-music festival in the Northwoods of Wisconsin include DJ Mike Relm of the Coachella Music Fest and Bonnaroo, Wisconsin’s own and the ever popular The Vic Ferrari Band, and Arch Allies, a tribute to Journey, R.E.O. Speedwagon, and Styx. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see these chart-topping bands perform live in the Lac du Flambeau Amphitheater this summer. Ticket prices are $45 for general admission seating, $65 for chair seating in the ground area, and $75 for ground seating located in front of the main stage.

Plus, 20 die hard fans will have a chance to get up close and personal with the bands of their choosing. A limited number of guests will have the opportunity to buy and take advantage of the very exclusive $300 VIP “all access” package that includes one VIP ticket with exclusive seating for the show next to the main stage, a special meet and greet with all of the bands, a personalized autographed acoustic guitar, complementary food at the venue, dinner for two at Lake of the Torches Resort Casino’s Eagle’s Nest Restaurant with preferential seating and enough tickets for five drinks at the show!

“If you’re a fan of the music of the 90’s like I am, you definitely have to attend the Northern Highlands Music Fest this summer!” said Michael J. Broderick, Director of Marketing at Lake of the Torches. “Never before has there been a lineup like this in one place and in one day! The show will be one of the highlights of the summer for anyone looking for extraordinary entertainment in the Northwoods, plus the price of the tickets is the best I have seen anywhere. This is definitely the best value based pricing for a one-day festival of this magnitude!”

Headlining the festival will be the talented Sugar Ray. The band formed in 1992 and, after originally calling themselves The Shrinky Dinks, struck stardom in 1997 with their hit “Fly.” The hit was a sensation on radio stations across the country and helped their album “Floored” achieve double platinum status. Sugar Ray followed this success in 1999 with the hits “Every Morning,” which reached #3 on the Billboard charts and “Someday,” which rose to #7 on the charts. They later released the popular “When It’s Over.”

Also taking the stage will be the ever-popular Smashmouth. The band was a national sensation when it hit the charts in 1997 with their album “Fush Yu Mang” that included the hit “Walking on the Sun” and followed in 1999 with the hit “All Star” that was played in such popular movies as “Shrek” and “Rat Race.” The band also produced popular cover songs from the classic bands The Monkees and The Beatles, including “I’m a Believer” and “Getting Better.”

Rounding out this all star line-up will be the Spin Doctors. The band shot onto the national music scene in 1991 with their debut album “Pocket Full of Kryptonite,” which went to triple platinum. This album included the smash hits “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” and “Two Princes.” The also released a cover of Creedence Clearwater classic “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” that was featured on the multi-platinum soundtrack for the movie “Philadelphia.”

Also, internationally known DJ and turntablist DJ Mike Relm will be performing the same mashups and skills he has displayed at festivals and shows like the Blue Man Group’s How to be a Megastar Tour, the Coachella Music Fest and Bonnaroo. Moreover, regional favorites The Vic Ferrari Band and Arch Allies will play your favorite hits of the 1980s through today.
